Summer in Rio
“When I arrived in Barra da Tijuca after a long day of hiking, I noticed the big waves and the higher tide flooding the lower part of the beach, creating a perfect natural mirror. Whilst the kite surfers enjoyed the wind, three young boys ran back and forth relentlessly across the water chasing each other around and simulating a football game using an old coconut. Their innocent laughs and the sound of their feet splashing against the water merged seamlessly into the soft music of the waves flowing in the background and the sun setting behind the hills. Almost as if time slowed down, gentle thoughts ran through my mind. This moment extended for no more than 2 minutes, before the fishermen took over the front of the beach hoping to catch some fresh dinner for the evening”.
